FIELD GUIDE / 03 · REVIEWED NOVEMBER 1, 2026
Give every quote the same starting line.
A side-by-side review starts with matching the assumptions.
1. Match the request
Use the same drivers, vehicles, use, coverage limits and deductibles when requesting quotes. “Full coverage” is not a standardized list of protections.
2. Mark every difference
Compare the policy term, total premium, payment fees, optional coverages and discount conditions. Ask for revised quotes when the coverage differs. A lower price alone does not establish equivalent protection.
3. Close the open questions
Confirm the insurer and agent are licensed through your state insurance department. Ask what still needs verification and when coverage would actually begin. Arrange the new policy before canceling the old one to avoid a gap.
